The impregnation plant is filled with wood via feeding carts. After closing the autoclave, a pre-vacuum is created by means of a vacuum pump. The duration of the vacuum depends on the type of wood. While maintaining the vacuum, the autoclave is flooded with the protective agent (impregnating agent). Under high pressure (pressure pump), the preservative is pressed deep into the wood. Depending on the type of wood, this phase lasts one to several hours. The autoclave is then depressurised and the preservative is drained off. The excess agent drips off during the post-vacuum phase so that the wood can be removed from the autoclave without dripping. The autoclave is ventilated, the door is opened, the impregnated wood is moved out and stored under the roof for fixing.
